![]() ![]() Even if you're a masochist woman, don't read this. The original story in Swarm Cycle story started the trend, the rest continued their brutal degrading treatment of women as if it was all written by a bunch of unpopular boys who couldn't get a date forever. The Swarm Cycle series for example annoyed me to no end, it was an extremely misogynistic universe where you get all the women and all the money and can do whatever you want to anyone if you got high SCAT score (I may be wrong with the name of the score, it's been so long since I got pissed with one of those stories). Sure, they try their best, but mostly it involves a bunch of amateurs grossly misunderstanding basic science and interpersonal relationship. It has a lot more freedom, but unfortunately, the majority of the author sucks. However, it must be said that storiesonline is pretty much just another literotica. It's easy to find stories and it's easy to receive feedbacks. While vote scumming still exist, it's not as bad as other sites in my experience. I don't know if this was changed recently, but back then, this was the reason I stopped using them.īut if that's not a problem to you, you will find that the two sites have a very mature community. You have to do this for every chapter, so it can be annoying. Basically, you upload your document, then the mods approve it, only then will it appear. Since it doesn't have wysiwyg editor, all your edits must be done before you submit your text. It's actually a pretty nice site, the only problem is, editing is annoying. There's of course more sites that I can't think of off the top of my head.Ĭlick to expand. You can go to storiesonline or finestories. I didn't mention sites that have some sort of exclusivity contract. I remember Kobatochandaisuki recruiting for Original authors awhile back Wuxiaworld forums (Generally for original novels/fanfictions inspired by Chinese stories) RebirthOnlineWorld (An original story site with some translations on the side) WebGuideFiction/Topfiction (long wait times for approval and mostly used by already well-established novels for a bit more views) Inkitt (careful of their publishing deals as they're a bit iffy right now, but the site itself is just fine) I'd suggest posting on several sites and then focusing on the one you like the most.įictionpress (side branch of for original novels) A lot of authors from other novel hosting sites are actually transitioning to RRL right now because of how much easier it is to get readers.Īs for places to host your story, note that you can put your story up in several places. People only complain about it here because they're used to translations where others can easily pick things up if the current TL drops. All novel hosting sites have this problem. It's an amateur site so people dropping their stories is to be expected even if it's interesting. Now back to compiling a list of sites where you can post your story. The bigger issue on the site is actually the people complaining about them and giving them low ratings just for that sort of stuff. It works for them, so I don't see a need to criticize them. Even now, you're using the term "light novel" to refer to your story. After all, a lot of the users also frequent translation sites and see this sort of stuff used, so they emulate it. We've already dealt out bans to several authors for doing so.Īs for authors using Japanese honorifics, there's a small community of authors that like to use terms like that. As for using them to bump ratings, that sort of stuff is easy to track down and punish. ![]() ![]() We tolerate this as some of them like to make several stories without the previous ones influencing them. We do have authors that make alt accounts. A lot of authors from other novel hosting sites are actually transitioning to RRL right now because of how much easier it is to get readers.
